Long Read

Matso's, twenty-five years on, is still the most Broome thing you can do

"There's a moment, usually between the mango beer and the pearl meat, when you realise this isn't a pub—it's Broome's lounge room."

The wide verandah catches cross-breezes off Roebuck Bay, the kitchen sends out plates that taste more like here than anywhere else in town. Order the pearl-meat agnolotti, get the chilli prawns, finish with the ginger beer float. Then stay for the sundowner.
